Mobile steel carport for Ministry of Defence Naval Base Den Helder

In January 2025, in collaboration with metalworking company Nijenkamp, we realised a mobile steel carport at the Defence site Marinehaven in Den Helder. Thanks to its flexible design, no permit is needed, making this solution immediately applicable.

Flexible and sustainable energy solution

The solar carport is equipped with four heavy-duty swivel castors, making it easy to move. The roof is finished with sheet piling, which ensure watertight construction and protection from the weather. The 9 integrated solar panels of 440 Wp generate renewable energy, which is used to produce hydrogen.

Sustainable impact

Thanks to this installation, an annual savings of 1.35 tonnes of CO₂ realised. This is equivalent to:

• Driving 10,000 km with an average petrol car
• 75 trees absorbing CO₂ for a year

The expected annual energy production is 3,366 kWh, contributing to the sustainability of Defence.
